PMPO (Peak Music PO) ~ Musikspitzenleistung
Peak Power ratings are the power in watts a given piece of audio equipment can output (in the case of an amplifier) or accept ( in the case of a speaker) for a short period of time (short in terms of seconds or fractions of seconds). Used on gear that needs to look more powerful than it is. If you see a ghetto-blaster advertising 160watts output, ignore it.

RMS (Root Mean Square) ~ Sinus Leistung
It refers to the average power output of an amplifier - the sustained output that the amplifier can output. RMS is essentially cruising speed. An RMS output of 125 watts means that your amplifier can output a sustained 125 watts of power. It may or may not output this much power at any given time. For loud passages that need a lot of power, your amplifier may output a peak power of a lot more than 125 watts, maybe 250 or even 400 watts.

THD (Total Harmonic Distortion) ~ Klirrfaktor
Amount of change in harmonic content of the signal as it is amplified. A lower figure indicates less change and a more accurate amp. THD below 0.10% is inaudible.

Daß PMPO gar nix aussagt, weiß ich. Die IMHO einzig halbwegs zuverlässige Angabe ist "xxx Watt-Sinus bei x Ohm".
Aber was ist RMS und THD?
Kennst du die Definitionen dafür? Oder wo kann man das nachlesen?

Aha, ok, 20 Watt RMS hört sich nicht gerade viel an, gleich wie Auslaufware. Ich hätte mir etwas mehr vorgestellt. Kennt jemand ein Produkt mit mehr Power (~100 Watt RMS), mit CD-R/RW und mp3 Funktion, Radio und Tapedeck, was in etwa der Preisklasse entsprechen sollte (100 auf oder ab ist nicht so schlimm)? Bitte um Ratschläge oder Tipps.

Radio ist eingebaut.. 800 Watt (PMPO) entsprechen hier 20 Watt (RMS) bei mindestens 10% THD.

Das ist Marketing.

Hallo, ich wusste nicht so ganz wo ich dieses Thema hinschreiben sollte, also habe ich es einfach hier gepostet. Ich möchte mir eine Kompaktanlage kaufen ( diese hier: http://www.geizhals.at/?cat=hificom&a=38135 ) und hätte da ne Frage. Also da steht z.B. CD-RW/MP3-kompatibel, hat es da eurer Meinung nach ein Limit an Liedern oder kann ich z.B. einen ganzen Rohling selbst brennen, wo ich in etwa 200 mp3s drauf bringe und die kann ich dann alle auch abspielen, oder gibts da *TRÖT*? Und auch Ausgangsleistung: 800Watt/PMPO, was mich interessieren würde, also die 800 Watt bringe ich ohne Verstärker und mit den mitgelieferten Boxen zusammen, weil mir war nicht so ganz klar was PMPO zu bedeuten hatte. Würdet ihr mir zu Kauf raten, ich finde nämlich den Preis ganz ok, für die Leistung. Danke schonmal. Andy
