Changes in this version:
- Fixed a bug in the DLL that caused the name of the RunDefrag() subroutine to be mangled.
- The distributions now include a 'doc' directory with a copy of the JkDefrag homepage.
- Moved the .bat file to compile the X64 version to the main directory.
- Small change in the code that rewrites input paths.
- Suppressed "could not get volume bitmap" message at the end of the optimization phase.

Changes in this version:

- Added a wrapper program to the screensaver. The alternate screensaver would not start for some users and this will hopefully fix the problem.
- Action 5 "Force together" added. This mode will move all files to the beginning of the disk, even if it means fragmenting them. It fills all the gaps with fragments taken from the highest files.
- A change in the code that determines if a file is fragmented, to reduce the number of files that are uneccesarily moved.
- Debug mode 5 has been split into mode 5 "Detailed gap-filling messages" and mode 6 "Detailed gap-finding messages".
- Fixed a bug that caused a logfile to be created with a single line of text (the version info) when the "-l" commandline option was used.

Free disk defragmentation utility for Windows 2000/2003/XP. Very small and very fast,
with very little CPU and memory overhead. Especially useful for unattended servers
in a lights-out computer hotel, but also great for desktop computers.
Can be started by hand or automatically at regular times by the Task Scheduler.

The zip contains two executables: ''Defrag.exe'' and ''WinDefrag.exe''.
They do exactly the same, but ''Defrag.exe'' is a commandline utility
(best for running by the Task Scheduler)
and ''WinDefrag.exe'' is a Windows utility (best for running by hand)

How safe is it?
The utility is based on the standard defragmentation API as defined by Microsoft,
just like all other defragmentors. It's therefore very solid and there is no risk of losing data.
You can stop the defragger at any time, it will finish the current file in the background.
If your disks use NTFS it will even survive a computer crash.
Nevertheless, it's still a good idea to backup before defragmenting, just like with other defragmentors,
because the heavy use of the harddisk may trigger a hardware fault.

How to start the defragger with an option?
Create a shortcut to Defrag or WinDefrag, open the properties of the shortcut,
and add the desired commandline options to the end of the ''target'' line.

How to run the defragger for a single disk?
Create a shortcut to Defrag or WinDefrag, open the properties of the shortcut,
and add the name of the disk (for example ''C:'') to the end of the ''target'' line.

Can I run the defragger outside Windows?
No. The defragger uses the Windows defragmentation library, so Windows must be started.
You can run it very early in the Windows startup, but not for example from a DOS bootable floppy.
See the "see also" section below for a link to ScanDefrag,
a utility that will run the defragger as early as possible.

Why use this defragger instead of the standard Windows defragger?
Much faster.
Easier to use.
Better optimization.
Has directory optimization.
Maintains a scratch area.
Can be run automatically with Windows Scheduler.

WinDefrag will show a full-screen map of the harddisk. Bottom of the screen is
the begin of the harddisk. The map refreshes once per second. Black is empty, dark-green is in use,
green is defragmented, yellow is fragmented, red is unmovable, white is busy.
You can stop the utility at any time by pressing ALT-F4 or by closing the window.

windefrag [-o] [-o1] [-o2] [-m] [-d N] [volume]

-o   Do not optimize the volume(s), only defragment.
-o1   Fast optimization (default).
-o2   Slow optimization.
-m   Start minimized instead of maximized.
-d N   Set debug level to N. Default is 0, highest is 5.
volume   For example 'C:'. Default is all volumes.
-s   to slow down the defragger.
