Heureka! Ich hab ein BIOS-Passwort gefunden und zwar folgendermaßen:

- bei der BIOS-Passworteingabe einfach zweimal Enter drücken
- vor der dritten ungültigen Eingabe die Taste F12 drücken
- den angezeigten 5-stelligen System Hash Code notieren
- auf http://dogber1.blogspot.co.at/2009/05/table-of-reverse-engineered-bios.html
  das bei Compaq 5 decimal digits verlinkte Windows binary
  http://sites.google.com/site/dogber1/blag/pwgen-5dec.zip
  herunterladen und entpacken
- die erhaltene exe-Datei ausführen und den zuvor notierten System Hash Code eingeben
- das für HP/Compaq Phoenix BIOS angegebene Passwort notieren
- dieses Passwort als BIOS-Passwort eingeben
- Bingo!

dann würde ich mal nachschauen ob du vielleicht was überbrücken kannst mit einem draht oder Jumper. bei meinem alten acer war das so. so boot CDs die das bios Passwort knacken hatte ich auch mal, aber ich weis nicht ob die gut funktionieren. musst mal probieren.

Es ist ein (ziemlich ) älteres Gerät (wurde am 28.11.2003 gekauft). Die (angeblichen) Masterpasswörter die da im Internet herumgeistern, haben sich alle als nicht hilfreich erwiesen und Dongle-Lösungen habe ich nur für Toshiba-Notebooks gefunden.

Falls es ein älteres Gerät ist könnte es ein Masterpasswort geben oder durch Überbrücken bzw. ein Doungle basteln/kaufen. Wenn es ein neues Gerät ist kannst du es so gut wie vergessen. Ich kenne das von den Geräten aus meiner Firma (HP und Lenovo) wenn du da das BIOS Passwort vergisst hast du kaum eine Chance, nicht einmal wenn du die Batterie rausnimmst vom Motherboard. Ich habe zwar mal eine Anleitung gefunden mit löten usw. aber viel zu riskant und umständlich.

hab damals mehrere ähnliche Kisten gehabt, falls möglich bau einfach mal die interne CMOS Batterie aus - gibt's fürs nx9005 kein Maintenance Handbuch mehr? Doch, ev. auch http://h20628.www2.hp.com/km-ext/kmcsdirect/emr_na-c01122313-1.pdf Seite 133 mit Lötkolben und ein paar alten Kabeln aus der Restekiste.

Weitere Möglichkeit: auf dem Mainboard einen grünen Jumper mit CLR_PWD suchen - viel Glück.

Edit: ok, Batterie und Jumper sind wohl aus dem Rennen ...

Natürlich bootet das Notebook auch ohne Passworteingabe weiter. Ich wollte nur die Einstellungen im BIOS kontrollieren, ob vielleicht durch das Update einige davon auf Standarwerte zurückgesetzt wurden.

Soviel ich weiß, wird das Passwort in einem EEPROM gespeichert.

Was willst überhaupt im Bios? Auch ohne Passwort müsste er doch einfach weiterbooten oder?

Gerade bei nem älteren Bios sollte man das schon machen... würde vermutlich auch dein Problem beseitigen...

Hallo zusammen!

Ich habe ein altes Notebook neu aufgesetzt (HP Compaq nx9005, wird nur mehr stationär für Textverarbeitung benutzt) und dabei blöderweise auch ein BIOS-Update durchgeführt. Wenn ich jetzt ins BIOS will, wird die Eingabe eines (mir unbekannten) Passworts verlangt, obwohl vorher keines gesetzt war.
Daher hab ich zwei Fragen:
1) Wie ist sowas möglich?
2) Kennt hier jemand ein wirksames Master-Passwort (Phoenix BIOS 4.0 Release 6.0) oder eine Möglichkeit, die Passwortabfrage aufzuheben, damit ich mir die Kontaktierung der kostenpflichtigen Hotline erspare (wir sind ja hier bei Geizhals )?
