Hi

Steh hier vor nem kleinen problemchen.
Hab mir grad sarge auf meinen rechner getan und es funkt nach anfänglichen schwierigkeiten jetzt eigentlich recht gut . hab nur mehr zwei probleme. ich bring Java nicht zum laufen und kde kapiert nicht das ich eine wheel-mouse haben. hat da wer den tip fuer mich.
Problem bei java: wenn ich seiten mit java mir anschaun will dann läd er brav alles rein und dann steht da "Loading Applet" so ca. ewig

Und gpm aktivieren!
geht auch mit /dev/mose , dann darf gpm aber nicht aktiv sein -> keine Maus in der Shell.

Zu Java: Welches Java? Sun? Blackdown?
Wie installiert? Plugin als Link gestzt?

ich hab das parket j2re1.3 installiert zurzeit und es kommt die meldung
application/x-java-vm fehlt (oder so ähnlich)

Die debian java Pakete von blackdown sind mit gcc 2.96 kompiliert. Alle aktuellen browser mit gcc > 3.0. Deswegen funktionieren die java plugins nicht mehr.

Installier am besten die aktuelle Version von sun (leider gibts die nicht als deb).

Sun Java verwenden!
Bin mir gar nicht sicher, ob das Debian Paket nicht nur ein Pseudopaket ist, um Abhängigkeitsprobleme zu vermeiden.

Entweder bin ich grad zu blöd oder die luft hier ist schon zu dünn...

ABER ich bring das teil einfach nicht zum laufen.
haste da vielleicht nen netten link oder so für mich?
fehler mit j2re1.4.2_05 von sun :java/lang/NoClassDefFoundError: java/lang/Object
oder Irgendwas mit Java VM fronts not found oder so.

so habs jetzt mal soweit das er so manche api läd und manche nicht

und bei manchen dauert es ewig.
woran kann das liegen?

An und für sich gehts ganz einfach.
Java von Sun downloaden z.B.
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html
(Wennst es findest fährst wahrscheinlich mit der jre alleine besser, als mit diesem Megapack mit Netbeanserver)

mit
chmod +x j2eesdk-1_4-linux.bin

ausführbar machen und mit
./j2eesdk-1_4-linux.bin

den Installer/Entpacker starten.
die Fragen beantworten (default einstellungen) und die Lizenz mit "yes" annehmen.

in /etc/profile die Systemvariablen ergänzen in meinem Beispiel:

CLASSPATH="/opt/SUNWappserver/jdk/lib/:/opt/SUNWappserver/jdk/jre/lib/t/"
JAVA_HOME="/opt/SUNWappserver/jdk/"
export CLASSPATH JAVA_HOME

dann mit
ln -s /opt/SUNWappserver/jdk/jre/plugin/i386/ns610-gcc32/libjavaplugin_oji.so /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libjavaplugin_oji.so

Das Plugin im Mozilla installieren.

Wenn dus, so wie ich empfehlen würde über das gpm device machst,
dann schau in die /etc/gpm.conf

schaut bei mir wie folgt aus:

device=/dev/psaux
responsiveness=
repeat_type=raw
type=imps2
append=""
sample_rate=

und natürlich muss gpm laufen.

U.U musst du mit dem Mousprotokoll spielen, wenn du eine spezielle Maus hast.
gpm -t help

gibt dir eine laaaange Liste möglicher Parameter für das Protokoll an.

die gebräuchlichsten:
ps2 (PS/2)         - For PS/2 mice (round with 6 metal pins).
fups2 (PS/2)       - For /BROKEN/ PS/2 mice (round with 6 metal pins).
imps2              - For the Microsoft IntelliMouse on a PS/2 port
exps2 (ExplorerPS/2) - IntelliMouse Explorer (ps2) - 3 buttons (wheel is repeated).
autops2            - For PS/2 type mouse, specific protocol will be auto detected
ms3                - For the Microsoft IntelliMouse (serial), 3 buttons (wheel is repeated).

Natürlich immer sowohl im gpm.conf als auch im XF86Config-4
das Protokoll ändern, und sowohl gpm als auch X restarten.

echt witzige sache ...
ich starte gpm - das rad funkt aber die mouse an sich nicht mehr. stoppe ich das teil ist das rad tot und die mouse geht wieder ...

Das deutet darauf hin, dass du das falsch Device in der XF86config-4 verwendest.

Poste mal deine XF86config-5 und deine gmp.conf

Du hast die Konfigurationsdaten die ich dir gesagt habe in
Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Generic Mouse"
geschrieben.

Verwendet wird aber

Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Configured Mouse"

-> austauschen, gpm starten, X starten und es muss gehen.

mhm naja desktops sind halt nicht meine welt. noch nicht
