Hello,

Sorry for the english, I do not speak or write german.

I bought a Siemssen SCD 5000 last week, and it does NOT have a Zoran Vaddis 8 chip, it has a Zoran VAddis 776 chip.

I am thinking of returning it. It plays less of my Divx and Xvid files than my brother's Yamada 6600, and does not like DVD-RW disks or DVD-R disks which I burnt at 4X. 2X is ok. These disks are fine with my brother's Yamada.

I wrote to Siemssen and am waiting for a reply. These are some of the problems I told them:

1/ when you have a SCART connecter plugged in the back of the player, the RCA stereo audio outputs do not work! They should!!!

2/ Cannot play DVD-RW disks at all

3/ MP3 display on front should display folder number as well as track number

4/ MP3 playback should be able to show the cover art jpg file inside the same folder as the music while the music is playing

5/ MP3 display should not only show one item of information at a time, it would be better if pressing the DISPLAY button gave you an image of the cover as well as all ID3-TAG information.

6/ Cannot play avi files with 3 Warp points

7/ Volume is quite low, even at full level, and should be set to output a bit higher.

8/ Cannot play MP3 and MP2 files which are in a MP4 container.

I hope they sort out these problems, and wonder why they say they have a Zoran Vaddis 8 chip when it is a 776 chip!!??
