Ich hoffe Ihr könnt mir ein bisschen beim Übersetzen helfen.

Also es geht um mein Alcatel USB Modem das mit dem Via-Chipsatz nicht funktionieren will, da mein E nicht so perfekt ist und ich keine Fehler machen will, bitte ich euch einfach mir bei der Übersetzung zu helfen

Note if any devices are sharing the IRQ with the USB host controller. Look in System Information > Hardware resources > IRQs.
2. Boot to BIOS setup (press Del, F1, or F10 at initial boot) and disable ACPI in the Power Management section.
3. Go to the "Integrated Peripherals" section and disable one or both serial (Com) ports if you are not using them.
4. Go to the "PnP/PCI" section and enable "PnP OS", "Auto" and "Reset Configuration Data". The last is a momentary switch and will be disabled each time you return here. It releases the BIOS lock on IRQs and lets Windows take over and is VERY important.
5. Boot DIRECTLY to Windows Safe Mode (continue booting and press F8 repeatedly to get the boot menu) and unplug any USB devices. Remove all USB software in Add/Remove Programs. Open Device Manager. Remove the USB root hub and host controller *in that order*. Remove all USB drivers. Look for duplicate or erroneous drivers and *remove them all*. Windows will reinstall genuine devices.
6. If you have any SB16 emulation drivers, disable them in the hardware profile (do not remove). These are DOS sound drivers and most don't need them.
7. Lastly, remove the drivers for the devices sharing the IRQ with the host controller. Windows should reinstall the drivers automatically.
At this point you have freed up 2 or 3 IRQs and reset Windows IRQ assignments. You can reboot and reinstall your devices *as per manufacturer's instructions*.
If you want to get rid of ACPI, tweak the registry of a running Windows setup. In the Registry under:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Detect
is a DWORD by the name of ACPIOption, that contains the value 1.
If not, create it.
If you set the value to 2 and start the hardware-recognition, Windows should readjust, after the restart, everything on APM and Plug&Play-bios and recognize all hardware again.
Best way is of course #1, a clean install of Windows.

: I have recently had ADSL installed and I am using an Alcatel modem, ever since it's been installed I get some strange system hangs.
: 1) Sometimes the monitor goes on standby, ADSL modem turns off and the power for all the devices internal seem to be ok, but I have to reset.
: 2) Sometimes, (usually when online and playing a game whilst online) I get a constant beep from sound and everything just hangs.
: I have tried taking ACPI off etc, its on a IRQ only with a steering device.
: I had a look thru the forums and couldn't find anything of use, I did see another person with similar incidents but the solutions didn't help

I have formatted and still get the problem as consistent as before.
: Thanx for reading and sorry if its a waste of your time, but this problem is really starting to frustrate me.

: I think that is all needed, but the problem seems to be with USB and the chipset.
