Dear Clemens,

We have noticed a recent influx in a specific type of Spam message that may be delivered to end users within your organization. There are no malicious or active characteristics about these messages, and they appear to be a new type of Spam message designed to bypass Spam filters.

The Spam message itself spoofs the Senders address as the actual recipient, so it appears the user sent the message to themselves. The body of the message contains basic HTML with random digits. A sample of this Spam can be seen below:

From: UserA@domain.com

If you have the ability to block all inbound Internet mail sent from your domain(s), we recommend you do so with a Policy rule. This will prevent this type of Spam from being delivered to your network. Please note that if you receive legitimate mail from your domains via the Internet, this proposed solution will reject those messages.

Due to the simplicity and seemingly random nature of these messages, it is difficult to create Spam rules to filter them out. However, if you or your users receive a variation of this message, we encourage them to send it to our Spam Team at abuse@xxx.xxx for continued analysis.
