Ooooh, da gäbe es so einiges zu sagen (bzw.: zu entgegnen) ... was die Sache freilich in eine Grundsatzdiskussion ausarten lässt.

Darum vielleicht mal ganz unmotiviert "aus KarlToffels Nähkästchen"

:

KarlToffel mag Horrorfilme. Mancher sammelt Briefmarken, manch anderer restauriert Bauernmöbel, ein dritter wieder liegt jeden 2. Samstag mit der Werkzeugkiste unter seinem Auto ... und KarlToffel mag eben Horrorfilme.

Ich kaufe mir also *Day of the dead* als DVD beim Mediamarkt. FSK irgendwas über 14 - extra noch drauf geachtet, eine möglichst vollständige (sprich: ungeschnittene) Version zu bekommen.
Tja, daheim besehen, hat sich die Sache als auf TV-sendetauglich gekürzt erwiesen.

Es gibt ein ellenlanges Specialfeature - wie sich das für DVDs gehört - über Filmdreh und Special FX, ... nur sind von den beschriebenen Szenen ~ 98 % überhaupt nicht zu sehen auf dieser meiner kastrierten DVD-Filmversion.

Nun ja - kürzlich habe ich mir denselben Film als divx DVD-Rip aus dem Usenet gezogen - in der ungeschnittensten Version, die gibt! Qualität 1A!

Mein ganz persönliches Fazit aus dieser Sache:
1. Ich wurde beim Kauf der DVD von der Filmindustrie beschi**en.
2. Im Usenet habe ich mir anschliessend auf Eigeninitiative beschafft, wofür ich letztlich bereits bezahlt habe. Was rechtens mir gehört.
3. Ich bin durchaus Verfechter des *fair-play*, wenn es um Software und Raubkopien geht. Wenn allerdings die Filmindustrie mir gegenüber auf's Fairplay pfeift und mich lieber für eine lausige Handvoll EUR nachhaltig vera*scht ... dann werden wir schon sehen, ob das ein "gutes Geschäft" für die Filmindustrie war.
Meine Prognose tendiert da eher zu *nein*, wenn ich mir meine techn. Ressourcen bezüglich Beschaffung illegaler Raubkopien ansehe.

Der langen Rede kurzer: Würde das Büro eines grossen Kredithais (o.ä. "Leute-beschei**"-Firma) zusperren, dann ggf. mein Beileid an die Angestellten, die damit arbeitslos geworden sind. Der FIRMA allerdings weine ich keine Krokodilsträne nach. Da komm' ich schon eher auf's Begräbnis, um auf dem Grab dieser Firma zu tanzen.
