ow to forward to port 255? (#12737)

Sometimes you need to enter 255 as forwarding address, e.g for WoL. But JavaScript is preventing you from entering 255 as a forwarding address. So, on BEFSX41 there is a trick to bypass this.

Try these 2 methods:

- Open forwarding page
- Disable Java:

.....MOZILLA: Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Scripts&Plugins - Uncheck "Enable Java for Navigator". Click OK.

.....FIREFOX: Tools > Options > Content > Uncheck "Enable JavaScript" and uncheck "Enable Java" Click OK.

- Input 255
- Enable Java
- Hit "Save settings"

OR

There is another way to bypass Java:

- Enter all settings and 254 as address and hit "Save settings"
- Now you have a few seconds to copy all the code from your browser address line before the page returns
- Paste back the code to browser address line, find and edit 254 to 255, and hit Enter
- Now you have 255 as forwarding address

I used the first method (temporarily turned off Java and JavScript in Firefox), entered 255 as the forwarding address (I used port UDP 9) and Wake-On-LAN now works perfectly for me!

I do STRONGLY recommend that you use the Wake-On-LAN GUI utility from http://www.depicus.com . Some of the other utilities I tried did not appear to work correctly over the Internet -- they only worked within the local area network.

In the Depicus Wake-On-LAN utility, be sure to enter 255.255.255.255 as the Subnet Mask.
