Massentauglich ist E-Mobilität bereits, da die Reichweite mittlerweile für die breite Masse locker reicht und die Preise über die Lebensdauer gesehen günstig sind. Massentauglich heißt nicht, dass E-Autos für alle die bessere Wahl sind, dass sie natürlich noch lange nicht (Stichwort Langstreckenpendler, Preisklasse <20k€, fehlende Lademöglichkeit etc.).

ad 1.  70% Zustimmung. Ja, der Stau bleibt.  Daran ändert der Antrieb nichts und es braucht ein Umdenken. Aber glaube mir als jemand der in Wien an einer befahrenen Straße wohnt und ca. 50km pro Woche läuft: Ob der Stau nahezu geräuschlos und völlig geruchsfrei oder laut nagelnd, brummend, dröhnend und vor allem nach Abgasen stinkend die Straße blockiert, das ist ein gewaltiger Unterschied. Den Unterschied merke ich schon bei einem einzigen Fahrzeug deutlich. Hier der Diesel der beim anfahren dröhnt und losstinkt, dass man für 30 Sekunden die Abgase riecht und einatmet, dort oder ein E-Auto (bzw. reicht sogar ein Prius Hybrid), das lautlos und geruchsfrei davonzieht - das ganze dann multipliziert mit den hunderten bis tausenden Fahrzeugen, die einen täglich passieren ergibt einen Unterschied in der Lebensqualität und Gesundheit, der die Vorstellung von vielen zu heute noch zu übersteigen scheint.

ad 2.  Man muss anerkennen, der Mann hat unfassbares geschafft. Er hat E-Autos salonfähig gemacht, die gesamte Automobilbranche auf den Kopf gestellt und ist mit Tesla offensichtlich enorm erfolgreich. Nebenbei hat er mit SpaceX eine Firma geschaffen, die mittlerweile die NASA alt aussehen hat lassen.
