nachdem ich mir gerade einen neuen tv mit 50" und hd-ready gekauft hab, überleg ich mir auch eine spielekonsole zuzulegen. da die ps3 noch dauert und zu teuer sein wird, kommt ja nur die x-box 360 in frage oder?

ich hab mich noch nie mit konsolen und so beschäftigt - aber immer wieder begriffe aufgeschnappt, die ich hier gern näher erklärt hätte, wenns geht

.) xbox als mediabox?
.) xbox speichert spiele auf festplatte?
.) xbox mit chip?
usw...

würd mich freuen, wenn mir mal die xbox-fans erklären würden was man denn alles mit so einer xbox machen kann, außer im original-zustand zu kaufen und original-spiele dazuzukaufen... danke

Also, ich weiss nicht was du genau mit der XBox machen willst.

Wenn du Spielen willst, dann führt der Weg nur über die X360. Dann würd ich mir gleich die Premium Variante nehmen.

Die XBox360 als Streaming Client zu verwenden ist nur bedingt empfehlenswert. Soviel ich weiss kann sie keine DivX oder XVid-s filme abspielen und mann muss WinXP Media Center Edition und den Windows Media Player 11 verwenden. Und dann werden auch nur WMV Filme unterstützt. Das ist mir zu wenig.

Wenn du einen reinen Streaming Client, der deinen Fernseher mit HD Material versorgt, brauchst, dann schau dir mal das Pinnacle Showcenter an
(hab hier etwas darüber geschrieben: http://forum.geizhals.at/t444383,3660805.html#3660805 )

Ich persönlich benutze die XBox360 nur zum Spielen (schaut wirklich gut aus) und
das Pinnacle Showcenter als Media Center (mp3-s abspilene, Fotos und Filme und HD-Filme anschauen). Beide sind über YUV Eingang angeschlossen und die Bildqualität ist hervorragend.

Zusätzlich hab ich auch meinen PC über den VGA Eingang auch am Rückpro angeschlossen.
Für den Fall dass ich Filme in einem Format hab, der vom Showcenter nicht unterstützt wird.

Noch zum Thema Chip: für die X360 gibts noch keine Mod Chips. Es gibt zwar andere Möglichkeiten, aber die sind etwas komplizierter.
Auf jeden Fall ist es derzeit nicht möglich alternative Betriebssysteme auf der X360 laufen zu lassen.
