Also ich sag's euch, es gibt hie und da Dinge, denen man einfach seinen Respekt zollen muss. Früher als Jugendlicher war Hero-Metal ja noch gesellschaftsfähig, doch gegen Anfang der 90er Jahre ist das jedoch ein wenig abgeflaut. 1992 kaufte ich mein letztes Manowar-Albung (The Triumph of Steel) und danach eigentlich keines mehr weil ich mich anderen Sachen zuwendete.

Vor 2 Wochen jedoch passierte es, dass ich in einer Metal-Kneipe eines der aktuellen Manowar-Lieder hörte (Warriors of the World United) und einfach hin und weg war. Am nächsten Tag kaufte ich mir sofort das Album welches schon im April des heurigen Jahres released wurde, und kann es seit dem nicht mehr aus dem Player legen. Einfach unglaublich, wie man heute im Jahre 2005 mit einer solchen Hingabe wie es diese (schon etwas angegrauten) Jungs tun, eine solche Musik machen kann.

Vor allem die Qualität mit der das heute gemacht wird beeindruckt mich. Kompositorisch hervorragendes Material mit extremer technischer Perfektion gespielt, teilweise so viel "Gänsehaut-Feeling" dass es einem kalt über den Rücken läuft. Und das ganze peinliche Getue ist weg, der reine Hero-Metal ist übrig geblieben mit hinreissenden Hymnen und Balladen die nicht besser zu machen gewesen wären. Den letzten Zweifel ob der Perfektion der Burschen fegt dann die Interpretation von Puccinis "Nessun Dorma" hinweg; einfach unglaublich sowas auf eine Hero-Metal CD zu packen. Respect!

Drum mein Tipp (gemäß der Rubrik): sollte in keiner Sammlung fehlen!
